A Fuchsia and Silver Dinner Party

This party screams Girly Sophistication!  A very busy mamma needed help planning her daughters 14th birthday party.  Georgia had a grown up dinner party in mind for her guest list of sixteen girls.  She asked for hot pink and silver and nothing too childish.

I love it when a client has a good idea of their theme but leaves the details up to me.  So after loads of research and shop shop shopping, this is what we came up with...  Isn't it great?!

Luckily there was an enormous dining table in this gorgeous house and we were just able to fit the sixteen place settings comfortably.  I like to use a basic white tablecloth and fancy it up with a great table runner.  In this case we got some cheap-as-chips cotton from a fabric store (we didn't even hem it as it came at the right width).  The silver plate chargers are a hire item of Loryn Loves.  Charger plates are really just a modern take on place mats.  They brought just the right amount of silver to this soiree!

We all know that anything tastes better in a beautiful wine glass and I found these for a steal in M&S.  I wrapped a pipe cleaner around each and added the guests' names to the bottom.  I did this by hand stamping the names onto circular pieces of card which I glued to the underside of the glass.  We doubled up on the napkins for effect and the napkin rings were pieces of card with star shaped cut outs.

Georgia wanted unusual favours for the ladies to take home with them.  I made these chocolate cupcake i jars and decorated them with tulle and ribbon.   We finished off the setting with some gorgeous fresh flowers and tea light candles.

The star of the show was the rose swirl birthday cake.   The white butter cream icing roses hid a multi layered chocolate cake with hot pink icing.  What more could a girl ask for?!
