Boot Sale Chest of Drawers

I'm so proud of this project - it's been a labour of love over the past few days and I'm so excited with how it has turned out!

I found this chest of drawers at the Wimbledon Dog track boot sale - very very cheap!!  It's beautiful wood and the drawers all work!
Luckily we inherited an electric sander when my brother moved to Australia and Hubby was kind enough to sand the drawers for me on the weekend.
I found some special wood spray paint at BnQ which has proved much easier (and less streaky) than paint.  I started with a primer, then 'apple green' colour and the varnish.  You need to let each layer dry overnight which is why this has taken a few days.

And to finish off I added some mismatched drawer knobs I found in TKMaxx.

I've got my eye on a stunning hall unit/umbrella stand so watch this space for my next project!

  1. Wow, La, it turned out beautifully. I'm going to get stuck in this weekend to an old bookshelf. Don't know if I'd be brave enough to use any colour other than white but I'll see how adventurous I can be xx
