Party Animals 3rd Birthday
So this weekend was a crazy one to say the least! Thank goodness for daylight savings, that extra hour of sleep on Saturday night was a-mah-zing as I had two cakes to decorate before this birthday party at 10am Sunday morning.
These twin girlies are absolutely gorgeous and thank goodness did not want the standard little girls princess party! They wanted animals!
Their favourite colours are green and pink which I used along with purple, blue and orange. The backdrop is made with ribbons I found at Tiger which kind of set the colour scheme for me to work with. The backdrop is made from the inside tube from a roll of wrapping paper. The ribbon is just tied around the tube and knotted to hang at about a meters length. The ribbon to hang it is just threaded through the tube.
I also found the fabulous grass gift wrap at Tiger which I used as the table cloth. It was handy for cleaning up too when we just rolled everything up into a bundle to chuck in the bin! No table cloths to clean!
I ordered the party boxes online at Delights, a very reasonable online party shop with plenty of choice! They do everything from plastic cutlery to piñatas in a huge array of themes and colours.
We had loads of cutlery and crockery leftover from the Numbers and Letters party I did so all we needed was a few 'Party Animals' napkins. The party mamma had made jelly orange slices for the kids - see how to make them here.
I found some animal print card and some colourful printed paper which matched the theme. I used these to decorate the scavenger hunt goodie bags, the juice boxes and the bunting.
I did a cupcake tower with vanilla sponge cakes and buttercream icing. I had ordered some jungle animal toppers, also from Delights. The cakes were a special request from the girls; a zebra for one, a lion for the other... this demanded a stretch of my imagination but I think they've turned out okay?!
