Dinner Parties - It's all in the detail!

The simple dinner party is no more!!   No hostess with a Pinterest account does bland, boring or dull these days.  It's all about the sophisticated soiree...  name places, napkin rings, decor, menus, fancy glassware... and a dash of glitter never hurt anyone!

So here's a bit of inspiration for you budding hostesses... a round up of some clever, cute and quirky ideas.  All the way from my Dinner Parties pinterest board.

What a difference a table cloth or runner can make.  Look how these striped and chevron patterns completely transform the look of the 'tablescape'.  You can keep all other details really simple and let the linen speak for itself.  Not that the (Stunning) gold glassware is simple but you get the idea.

Now how about some simple DIY touches that give the get together just a little something extra.  Of course we don't want to break the bank and even better if it's a quick and easy thing for even the non- creative to manage.

Why not serve individual mini baguettes in a brown paper bag, scrawl the menu over the top in no time and voila!  Or a simple menu card tucked into the napkin will suit a more formal affair.

I'm a total sucker for fresh flowers and who isn't?  Look at these incredible floral arrangements, who wouldn't want to be a guest at one of these colourful get togethers?

But we all know that fresh flowers can be really pricey.  Why not try your hand at creating a centrepiece that makes as much of a wow factor at half the price.  These gold bottles are just a random selection of glassware (probably collected by the hostess) that have been spray painted.  Display with white candles, leave out the flowers and group closer together for an amazing table feature.  Or look at the atmosphere these tea light candles create - and not a flower in sight!  I do love the napkin star though.

super easy to spray paint any glass bottles you collect. And what an impact it makes how simple is this star but so pretty! love the tea light candles

Now that's enough inspiration to keep you going until you find your way to my Pinterest board.  Take a look for more ideas on table layout, napkin displays and colour schemes.  And get planning your next soiree!!
