A Dessert Platter by Loryn Loves

A mini dessert bar, a cake platter, a sweets board... call it what you will but you've never seen it done like this before... a mini cake surrounded by yumminess!

I am sooo happy with the way this turned out, I think it will become a regular part at Loryn Loves.  It's just perfect for a small gathering, a high tea party or small baby shower.  When there's no need for a large dessert bar or sweetie table then this is the answer.

So this was something I made over the weekend for a friend's birthday party.  There were ten guests so it was just the right amount.  The small semi-naked cake would actually feed about twenty guests quite comfortably.  I added me-made chocolates, meringues and mini cupcakes... so guests were able to take a slice or just pick their way through all the different tastes...  nom nom!!!

Here are some pics... I think next time I'll add some fresh fruit and you could even add non homemade things like Tim Tams and marshmallows... oh the possibilities!
