A Blue & Yellow First Birthday Party

This party mamma wanted something classic and simple for her little Leo's first birthday party.  She was very happy for me to just get on with it once we had decided on a colour scheme.

The dining room had a gorgeous chandelier of bulbs hanging low so we weren't able to move the table against the wall or guests would keep hitting their heads.  So the strings of bunting (handmade by the hostess) were more of a room decoration than a backdrop.  I used a riser and cake stand in the middle of the table to make sure the cake was the focal point.  Then layered lolly jars and platters of sweet stuff below.  There was plenty of space around the table for guests to mingle and keep piling their plates high!
