Thank you 2015!

As I close up shop for 2015 I wanted to acknowledge what has been such an exciting year for me.  I can't wait to get stuck into 2016.  It will be a slow start with our second bub arriving in April but hopefully not too long before I'm back into the swing of things.  Rest assured I will be spending every free minute (ha ha - such a thing?!) keeping up to date with trends and techniques in styling and decorating and party essentials...

The biggest thing for Loryn Loves this year was that my kitchen was finally council-registered.  I have since been able to include cake decorating as part of my business.  It now means I can offer a complete package of party hire, styling & sweets!

Styling is still something I love to do, I love brainstorming with a customer, researching my butt off and then working on all the little details that make it gorgeous.  I love making my customers' ideas come to life in the way they imagined, or even better, exceeding all they thought possible!  I love shopping for flowers and baking up a storm and collaborating with amazing suppliers.  I love it when a dessert table turns out just how it looked in my own mind, even when I've doubted myself along the way.

Cake decorating is something I am obsessed with and I love to learn as I go.  I like to decorate to my personal tastes so you'll find lots of girly, rustic & contemporary cakes in my portfolio.  You wont find much fondant here!   I'm crazy about Instagram and get a lot of my inspo from the likes of Katherine Sabbath, Unbirthday Bakery and Cakes by Cliff; all at the top of their cake decorating game!!  There are so many new and exciting techniques to try and I love it when customers let me be creative; the possibilities are endless and this is when I do some of my best work!  You can see all of my cakes in the BAKING album on Facebook.

Along with cakes, I have come up with the Sweet Feast Platters, exclusive to Loryn Loves and never seen before.  Wooden boards overflowing with chocolates, popcorn, mini cupcakes and meringues - all in colours to suit your occassion... these have proved so popular and I'm so excited that a few future brides have placed orders for the new year...

My Etsy shop started slowly but has grown fantastically in 2015 and I will continue to keep this stocked with beautiful cake toppers throughout my pregnancy and mat leave.  I've teamed up with a local supplier who is creating these completely Australian made wooden toppers and we have some new and exciting designs coming up, including some that will be exclusive to Loryn Loves.  Have a browse through our shop here....

Loryn Loves will continue to hire out party essentials to those DIY hostesses out there.  I'm always looking for new and exciting things to add to our inventory so if you don't see something you're looking for then get in touch and maybe we can make it happen!  You can see all items in the HIRE LOVE album.

I've been hosting cupcake decorating classes throughout the year and this is still one of the best parts of my job.  I love meeting these fabulous woman who think they will be useless and leave with skills they never knew they had... I've had such great feedback and will try to have a few classes in early 2016.  Keep an eye on the workshops page for upcoming dates.

I'm learning new things about social media every day but have so much I still need to catch up with.  This will be something I can focus on during the many hours of midnight feeding I no doubt have ahead of me!  I am currently focusing on Facebook and Instagram and learning along the way... I definitely need to allocate more time to this side of my business to help it grow in the right direction... Facebook is really the only way I drum up new business at the moment: word of mouth from happy customers, competitions and advertising on various sites.  The more you like and share my posts, the more exposure my little business will get and the busier I will be!  So please, please keep up the positive comments and kind feedback...  I'm so grateful to you all!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your continued support, I'm so in love with what I do and couldn't be happier or more excited about what the future holds.  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the best of luck for all your 2016 dreams and ventures!

All my love...
